Abstract
The domain resonance ferromagnetic resonance (DRFMR) is described for perpendicularly magnetized Co(0 0 0 1) thin films supporting a very narrow, strong stripe-domain structure with domain widths of the order of the film thickness. The DRFMR experiments show that besides the conventional mode splitting of the uniform mode into an acoustic and an optic mode, a series of new modes occur which are shifted down field. The thickness dependence of these low-field modes suggests an interpretation in terms of magneto-exchange modes with discrete wave vectors quantized across the film thickness as well as across the domain width.
